Is it possible a different form of little champions could make my dog sick?

A while back ago we bought the ground dinner version of Little Champions soft food. At the time our dog got sick and had diarrhea. We switched back to the cuts in gravy kind, but it was still Little Champions, and he has not gotten sick again. I was wandering if it was because of this or was it just a coincidence.

Your dog can’t explain his symptoms to you when he feels bad, so it’s your responsibility to take care of him and to understand when your dog is feeling bad. Just exactly how do you do that you may ask?

Well, the best thing I can suggest to you is to know exactly how your dog acts when it is feels good. If you know this you should be able to tell when your dog is really sick and you’ll be able to easily answer your own question – ” Is my dog sick?”

What is a symptom? Whenever your dog is sick or feels bad he will usually exhibit some sort of symptom that he does not feel up to par. Some common symptoms you may see your dog exhibit when it feels bad include: vomiting, diarrhea, stumbling, seizing, drooling, not eating, limping, etc.

It’s simple overall. Just remember that some symptoms, such as seizures, collapse or any kind of difficulty in breathing should always receive a prompt a veterinary exam – immediately. If there is ever any doubt about the seriousness of any particular symptom, please contact your veterinarian or local veterinary emergency facility. Explain the symptom your dog is having and ask for their advice. Better safe than sorry I always say.

There are all kinds of serious health symptoms that should never be ignored in any dog. As a pet owner it is important that you’re aware of these and know what to do. Below is a list of symptoms that should never be ignored if you see them exhibited by dog! So, let’s begin.

Remember, if any of these happen to your dog to contact your veterinarian immediately. A few important dog symptoms you’ll never want to ignore are:

Breathing Problems.

Bloated or Distended Abdomen.

Collapse or Fainting.

Losing Weight.

Urinating and Drinking Excessively.

Seizure.

Unproductive vomiting.

Trouble Urinating.

Excessive coughing.

Bloody Diarrhea – Bloody Urine – Bloody Vomit.

Pale Gums.

Bruising and/or Bleeding.

Bite Wounds.

Lethargy or Weakness.

Not Eating or Loss of Appetite.

Pacing and Restlessness.

Fever.

Your dogs health should be extremely important to you so watch carefully for any symptoms your dog may exhibit closely and be aware of what you should do in response. It’s important to be able to tell whether or bot your dog is sick.

Every dog has to go through it, every dog most probably hates it as much as anyone else does, but the fact of the matter is that your dog will show sick symptoms once in a while and will become ill. This is natural for a dog or any other animal, they all get sick and there’s nothing anyone can do to prevent it.

On the other hand there are ways in which you can ease the suffering a bit for your dog and help them get the fast paced recovery they deserve. There are probably many different home remedies for helping you dog get better, but often if any are going to work then it will be the suggestions or medication your vet will give your after a diagnosis of your dog, so when you fear your dog is ill you should take them to the vet as soon as possible.

Ok, so let’s now look at some of the more popular of the hundreds of symptoms that your dog may be feeling.

Not wanting to move

Many dogs when ill wont want to move very far, have pain in moving, refusing to exercise, limping or has signs or injured paw/leg, or just general decreased agility. Theses can all be signs of illness or injury and should be watched out for.

Discharge

This may seem an obvious choice but many dog owners fail to notice discharge from eyes, nose, and ears. These should only normally be a worry if the discharge is coloured.

Appetite

A dog’s loss of appetite is a good well recognised symptom of illness as well as over eating without weight gain, sudden weight loss, or diarrhoea. Keep an eye on your dog’s diet and food habits to make this easier to recognise when it happens.

Itching and Scratching

Itching or scratching and trying to rub themselves up against furniture can be symptoms of bad skin or new pests on the scene. At this time your dog may be feeling ill or unwell or have it to come.

Mouth Problems

Bleeding or soar looking gums, along with discoloured teeth or teeth loss all need to be diagnosed properly by a vet and could be due to a more serious illnesses.

Can a human get sick from their dog ?

I’ve always wondered this…
I mean, if a dog throws up…Will you, being around them, get sick?

Also, can you get your dog sick? Not by giving them too many treats but if you have a cold of flu, can they catch something?

I’ve heard it both ways that you can and can’t get sick from them.

What do you think?
Thanks!

A little boy down my street is having a lemonade stand. I was wondering if it would be okay for my dog to drink some. She eats most human foods, and she doesn’t get sick. Should i let her? Please hurry Thanks! :D
I don’t always let her eat human food, but if she behaves, I will give a little bit. Never more than a quarter size, though.

Is it possible for a cat to make a dog sick?

December 26, 2009 by admin

A friend of mine brought her puppy over here 2 weeks ago to play with my dog and I shut my cat up in the other room. Her puppy got sick last week and she says it’s because she was around my cat, which doesn’t make any sense to me. My cat is up on all of his shots as well as my dog and my cat hasn’t made my dog sick. She said dogs can get sick from breathing the same air as cats. Can anyone please let me know if any of this is true?
